Corporate
Responsibility

Our commitment to community development is rooted in a simple purpose — to ensure that the roads we build also pave the way for stronger, healthier, and more empowered lives. We believe that infrastructure must serve people first, and our CSR initiatives are designed to uplift the communities that live along and around our corridors. Guided by this purpose, we focus on creating real impact through education, healthcare, road safety, skill development, and resilience-building programs that respond to the needs of local populations. By working hand-in-hand with communities, government bodies, and grassroots partners, we strive to create environments where people can thrive. We are equally committed to environmental stewardship, working to preserve natural ecosystems, promote sustainability, and ensure that development progresses responsibly and harmoniously with the environment. Our mission is not just to connect places, but to connect aspirations — strengthening India’s development journey through meaningful, inclusive, and sustainable social progress.

Through the Swasthya Path initiative, five Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) are transforming access to primary healthcare across 110 villages in five blocks of Varanasi district.

Launched in October 2022, the program began with four MMUs serving the communities of Kashi Vidyapeeth, Chiraigaon, Baragaon, and Araziline blocks — delivering essential medical services to thousands who previously lacked regular access to healthcare.

Building on this success, a fifth MMU was introduced in October 2024, extending our reach to Pindra block, and reinforcing our mission to bring quality healthcare closer to every home.

This initiative stands as a testament to VAH’ commitment to inclusive growth, ensuring that no community is left behind in the journey toward a healthier, empowered India.

To bridge learning gaps and ensure equal access to quality education, VAH, in collaboration with KHUSHII, launched the Shikshaantra Plus initiative — a comprehensive school transformation program empowering children across 10 Government schools in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.

Since 2022, the program has reached over 8,000 students, providing support education in key subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Gujarati, Computer Education, and Spoken English through innovative remedial teaching techniques.

The initiative goes beyond academics — focusing on holistic development by:

  1. Enhancing teaching-learning environments and digital classrooms
  2. Promoting health, hygiene, and WASH awareness
  3. Building 21st-century life skills, creativity, and critical thinking through STEM & CCT sessions
  4. Offering counselling and psychosocial support to nurture emotional well-being
  5. Encouraging student leadership through Maitri Groups (children’s clubs)

Through Shikshaantra Plus, VAH is not just improving education — it is inspiring confidence, curiosity, and a brighter future for thousands of young learners across rural India.

In a longstanding partnership with the Real Madrid Foundation, VAH has been driving change through the Social Sports School (SSS) initiative — a program that blends sports, education, and social values to inspire young minds.

For over 12 years, the initiative in Kedah, West Bengal, implemented with IIMC, has addressed critical social challenges by providing healthcare and educational support to vulnerable children, transforming the lives of over 150+ students each year.

Building on this success, the program was expanded to Varanasi in 2024 as an extension of the Shikshaantra Plus initiative. Through two newly established Social Sports Schools in Dafi and Naveen, 200 children (100 boys and 100 girls) are being equipped with life and value-based skills through the game of football.

Local coaches, trained by a Real Madrid Foundation coach from Spain, are leading the sessions — ensuring the program fosters discipline, teamwork, gender equality, and inclusivity while nurturing the next generation of confident and compassionate individuals.

Varanasi Aurangabad NH-2 Tollway Pvt Ltd (VAH) organized a cycle donation drive at the Primary School, Naipura, Dafi, Varanasi to felicitate 40 deserving girl children with the aim to help young girls overcome mobility challenges and continue their education without interruption. 40 girl students from 3 schools namely, Composite School Sunderpur, Primary School Naipura, Dafi, and Composite School Naveen were felicitated.

At Daffi Toll Plaza, the composting system has been functional since October 2024, converting kitchen waste into compost for in-house plantation maintenance. As of September 2025, approximately 390 kg of biodegradable waste has been processed, producing nutrient-rich compost utilized for maintaining the greenbelt within the facility.

As part of the VAH corridor greening programme, large-scale plantation activities were carried out through avenue and median plantations, complemented by community-led campaigns.

Additionally, 1,336 saplings were planted under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0” campaign in June 2025 across Daffi, Mohania, Akhri Bypass, and Sasaram Toll Plaza, with participation from 1,387 employees, local residents, and students.

These efforts contribute to improved roadside aesthetics, air quality enhancement, soil stabilization, and biodiversity support, aligned with VAH Sustainability Master Plan focus on Green Corridors and community engagement.

To strengthen sustainable waste management practices and promote circularity, VAH ensures that electronic waste (e-waste) generated across its operations is disposed of only through authorised and compliant recycling vendors, in line with applicable regulatory requirements.

During the reporting period, e-waste was responsibly collected and channelised for environmentally sound recycling - 1,480 kg.

This initiative helps prevent improper disposal, reduces environmental and health risks associated with hazardous electronic components, and enables material recovery through formal recycling systems. The approach supports VAH Sustainability Master Plan objectives on circular economy, environmental compliance, and responsible resource management, while reinforcing accountability.
